Personal Plan
Once I've finished my three years at Long Road I'll be planning to attend Anglia Ruskin University to study Film and Media Studies. With the help of Ruskin I'll be able to borrow the best equipment and get feedback from Media and Film professionals teaching there. With the help of the skills that I have learnt during my time at Long Road I should be able to gain a quick start at University. The use of PhotoShop and Premier Pro will be essential for my director future in University. By having these skills before University, will boost my confidence and choice of roles within class. It will also help me with the knowledge and to help others who are having trouble with the software.

After I have finished University which will be a three years in total, I will then plan to obtain the job I've been striving to get for my many years in education. I'm hoping to take on the railings of being a director and finally making my own film and perhaps work with other talented actors and producers. If I'm unsuccessful or somehow don't want the job anymore, I will make free lance work and see where that pursues me e.g. film festivals or short films. 

While studying at Anglia Ruskin I will try to gather a group of students to create an online portfolio with me to gain experience and hopefully get given free lance opportunities. If successfully finding a group, we could potentially create a part time company/business for short sketches and perhaps even online videos for gamers e.g. Gameplay videos and short films. I've listed in my personal audit that I could buy a better camera + tripod from Amazon or Curry's. This won't be necessary as I could borrow all this equipment from Anglia Ruskin as they allow there Media students access to their equipment's whenever.

Addressing my skills and resources.
Overall, I feel like I have complete access to the things I need and the things I currently have, from purchasing equipment and software online to borrowing cameras from friends and the university. It is a good balance to have before I start my three years at Ruskin University.  

Contingency Plan:

If my plan doesn't plan out, for example not getting enough points to get into Anglia Ruskin then I will use the 'Clearance' plan provided by UCAS. This plan allows students to search for courses with lower requirements e.g. 260 to high so they provide a course for 220. If I'm not able to attend university due to the lack of points I will have to expand my portfolio online and increase the popularity of my work. In other words I will have to go free lance and use the skills I have already learnt from Long Road to find a job. I could possibly attend a course at CRC to increase my UCAS points but as I'm older than 18 I would have to pay, which in my case isn't a option at the moment. Finally I could apply for an apprenticeship here http://www.indeed.co.uk/Media-Apprenticeships-jobs. This will provide experience while also giving me income to purchase things in the future. In my opinion an apprenticeship isn't such a bad contingency plan. I should be able to get an a apprenticeship with my current skills.

Stories From The End (Working title) This is about a group of survivors in a post apocalyptic world full of infected human beings, each chapter is through the eyes of a different survivor, telling their personal feelings and thoughts of the situation they are in. (This story is near to completion) 

RPG Story (Working title) The story starts off with three unlikely heroes who travel across the land to stop an evil wizard from destroying the world (cliche much right?) However, the story is told by six children who are playing a role playing game. (This is a quirky, crazy story with random encounters from a child's imagination.)

I already have cameras at home to film and take pictures professionally whenever I wanted. I have a sony camera, my phone and a DSLR Camera.

Things I Still Need

Editing software 
At anglia, it is very likely I will be given a editing software to work on but with the editing software I have on my computer 'Final Cut' it really depends what I will be editing and if my software is up to date at home.

Studio
In universities, studios are usually available to all media and film students. However, I do have the choice of making my garage a studio which will cost nothing. Saying that, I do not have any lights to work with I would have either borrow lights from the university or purchase them.

 If I do very well however, I could ask BFI for the funding and to create the films. Or I could even turn to kickstarter and promote my film on there and get funded from the public.

Applying for the course

After finishing with the research of the universities I wanted to go to, I then applied to the universities I wanted to join, however, before doing this I had to register into UCAS.

For the application process on the UCAS website, I did the following instructions:

Step 1:  Select up to 5 universities/courses to apply to.

Step 2:  Fill in personal details about myself. 

Step 3:  Fill in details about my past qualifications, and thesubjects I am curently doing.

Step 4:  Write a personal statement.

Step 5: Write about past work experience or jobs.

Step 6: Get references from teachers and my progress coach.

Step 7: Send the details off.

Step 8: To show it was successful, UCAS will email or even send me a letter to confirm the information I have given them and will let me know in the nearby future if anything is wrong with the application. 

Personal Statement 

From the year 1999, seeing the highly anticipated film 'The Lord Of The Rings' for the first
time I knew that I aspired to create a film just as heart felt and successful. Every day we
tell each other stories, and I have the eagerness to want to bring my stories to life, sharing
my vision with an audience, allowing them to share snippets of my life, creations that I
devise.

Whilst at Secondary School, English and Drama were the subjects that excited me the most,
allowing me to share my creativity, either practically in a performance or written down in the
form of story, allowing other people to share an insight into my passion. As well as directing
two performances whilst at school I also had a large input in elements of script writing and
character development roles, this allowed me to display my dexterity as I was multitasking
throughout the performances, making decisions on set lay out, communicating ideas and relaying
them to the other cast members.
Joining the Level 2 Media Diploma was key to my further education and my career path. Sixth
Form has allowed me to develop skills that were new to my repertoire; creating an exciting
animation film where I developed my frames within 'Toon Boom Harmony' this gave the film a
smooth appearance as the frames were created gradually. Creating this was not without its
challenges, it required a lot of patience, but in the same breath it was rewarding especially
when I received positive feedback from my audience including my tutor. During the course I
have been able to develop many personal skills, I am confident about leading tasks and setting
up group discussions, these skills were called upon when creating a short horror film. Working
in a team was a key to this film, having the experience I could call upon from School
productions, I feel that I united the group because of my calm and measured approach, all
members were given roles according to their strengths, creating mind maps and prompts which
gave them team structure and confidence. This piece was also well received by my tutor and the
audience. During my course I have explored different elements of film making ranging from
editing to acting, this given me an insight into each of the professions and allowed me to
gain valuable experience. Having made the most of all the opportunities given to me I have
been very lucky to use creative software that others may not have, I navigate easily around
new software and feel confident when creating ideas. I am also undertaking an EPQ which allows
me to create a pilot script about crime. I have enjoyed managing my own project, can organise
my time effectively and am open to incorporating feedback I receive from my blog on the ideas
I have posted.
Away from my education studies I also enjoy drawing and illustration, where I frequently
create my own storyboards, targeted at different audiences, some of my favourites are of
complex structures, landscapes and animals. I also have a keen interest in film and TV, at the
start of every month I am eagerly awaiting the delivery of my Empire magazine, where I enjoy
reading the reviews on new films. When they are released in the cinema I make use of my
student card and go to watch them. In my mind I create a review comparing it with what I had
read and share these views with my friends and family. I currently run three blogs where I
show my art work and stories, promote other artists and story tellers and ask for feedback
from the films I have made.

I want to pursue a career in Media and Film and I believe that I have the necessary desire and
gusto for taking risks in production which will support me to succeed in the industry. I would
thoroughly revel in the opportunity to study Media and Film at University as the next steps to
my future career.

Career and study after college options

Resource Plan

After Long Road, my plan is to study Film and Media Studies at Anglia Ruskin University. While I have applied to the course I plan to do activities outside of Ruskin which will work towards my career plan, such as saving up money during a summer job and buying an editing laptop so I can video outside of university and capture my visual ideas then submit them to film festivals so I can show people my visual ideas and creativity. I will also be applying for more work experience opportunities on set and also for nearby film studios/production companies offering myself as a runner so I know the ins and outs of the studio and learn my up the ranks of the film industry workings.

 After Ruskin I will apply for filming schools or even start funding and continue to gain ideas and make short or even feature length films. If I am being honest with myself I need to improve my director role even more, I will apply for courses in directing or anything along the lines. Either way, I will continue to make short films and apply again in the future if I am not accepted in the courses as it is hard for me to give up. While I am producing short films I plan to have a part time job during the summer all the way till I graduate, I plan on working on a job which is linked to television or film, this way I can make enough money to buy my own equipment and hopefully then save up to earn my ranks to become a director of feature films.

Contingency Plan

If I struggle to get into a film related course, or struggle with funding for short films, I will continue to look through jobs that are related to the film industry such as offering myself to be hired as a runner or an assistant director.
